What are Wikki Stix made of? Do they contain latex or any type of peanut or nut products?

Wikki Stix are made of hand-knitting yarn (the kind you knit baby booties with), and are enhanced with a special non-toxic, food-grade microcrystalline wax, the kind used in bubblegum and lipsticks. They do not contain gluten, latex, nor peanut or other nut oils or byproducts. Wikki Stix are an excellent product for children dealing with allergies!

Are Wikki Stix safe for children to put in their mouths?

Wikki Stix are 100% Made in the USA.  All children’s products made in USA are required by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to undergo regular, periodic testing, checking for such things as toxicity and lead. Wikki Stix have received this certification, and conforms to the safety standards set by the Commission and conform to ASTM D-4236, the art material safety standard.

Wikki Stix are coated with the same kind of food-grade safe wax used in bubblegum and lipstick.  As such, biting or chewing on brand new Wikki Stix should not cause any danger to the child.  However, used Wikki Stix would have collected some dirt or dust, and hence would not be advisable for children to put in their mouths.

Swallowing the Wikkies however, would be hazardous as Wikki Stix are essentially pieces of yarn.  We would recommend to give Wikkies only to children aged 3 and above, and under adult supervision, just like you would with crayons and play doh.

My Wikkies are not sticking together to form shapes. What can I do?

Press the Wikki Stix together as firmly as possible. Try to warm them up by rubbing them in your hands. Your body temperature will help make the Wikkies more pliable.

How do I get the best results from my Wikki Stix and keep them staying intact?

Keep your Wikki Stix away from direct sunlight and cold temperatures. Do not keep them near heat sources, and do not store them inside a freezer. We recommend storing them in sealed plastic bags to remain free of dust and dirt.

Wikki Stix are so versatile they can be used over and over again! Of course, how long it will last depends upon the frequency and ways they are being used.

Wikki Stix do not break or tear apart, but cut easily with scissors.

Do the colors on Wikki Stix bleed into fabric, paint, or skin?

No, the color from Wikki Stix will not bleed. This is because the color comes from the yarn inside the uncolored wax.

How do I get Wikki Stix off the car windows?

First, DON’T reach for the Windex or any similar product! Simply use a DRY paper towel and rub. It may take a moment of elbow grease, but it will come right off.  Some parents have also shared with us that lemon essential oils, vinegar and nail polish remover works well too!

What if a Wikki goes through the wash?

They’re amazingly durable and come through in great shape! Probably won’t have quite the same play value as before, however, but your washer and clothes will be fine. We’ve even had them go through the dryer with no ill effects.
